Selected models also filter airborne particles. Check both functions when comparing models, as the fitted filter can affect moisture removal.

Which One Do You Need?
An air purifier filters what is already in the air. A dehumidifier takes out the damp that lets smells and mildew start in the first place. If you have a musty smell coming back again and again, rather than a dust problem, the dehumidifier is usually the better buy.
A strong or recurring smell needs its cause checked. For a musty room, look for leaks, damp materials or mould. Contact us to discuss the problem and a suitable next step.

Questions and Answers
The right size depends on the room, the amount of moisture and how often doors or windows are open. Send us the room dimensions and describe how it is used. Compare extraction rates under the same test conditions. A model number is not a reliable guide to litres removed per day.
An air purifier filters particles from the air. A dehumidifier reduces moisture. Some models combine both functions, but their performance depends on the mode and filter used.
It can help control excess moisture, but a musty smell may come from a leak, damp material or mould. Check and fix the cause. A dehumidifier does not remove existing mould or repair water damage.
When you use the tank, it needs emptying as water collects. Some models also allow drainage through a hose. Check the selected model’s instructions and the position of your drain before choosing this option.
This depends on the model, settings and how long it runs. A dehumidifier may switch its compressor on and off as it controls humidity. Ask for the selected model’s power rating when comparing units.
Noise varies by model and fan speed. Check the noise rating and the setting you plan to use at night. Lower fan speeds may be quieter, but they also move less air.
